Daniel Meets the New Neighbors
Daniel Tiger was excited to meet his new neighbors. They had just moved into the house next door, and Daniel couldn't wait to say hello.
He ran over to their house and knocked on the door. A moment later, the door opened, and a little girl peeked out.
"Hi," Daniel said. "My name is Daniel Tiger. What's your name?"

"I'm Margaret," the little girl said. "It's nice to meet you, Daniel."
Daniel smiled. "It's nice to meet you too, Margaret. Do you want to play with me?"
Margaret nodded. "Sure," she said.
Daniel and Margaret played together all afternoon. They built a fort out of blankets and pillows, played dress-up, and even had a tea party.
By the end of the day, they were best friends.
The next day, Daniel was playing in his backyard when he saw a new family moving into the house across the street. He ran over to say hello.
"Hi," Daniel said. "My name is Daniel Tiger. What are your names?"
"I'm Mr. Rogers," the man said. "And this is my wife, Mrs. Rogers. And this is our daughter, Maria."
"It's nice to meet you all," Daniel said. "Do you want to play with me?"
Mr. Rogers smiled. "Sure," he said. "We'd love to."
Daniel, Margaret, and Maria played together all afternoon. They played hide-and-seek, chased each other around the yard, and even played a game of soccer.
By the end of the day, they were all best friends.
Daniel was so happy to have new neighbors. He had learned that making new friends is easy when you're open and friendly. And he knew that he would always have his friends Margaret and Maria to play with.
